With the approach of Memorial Day and all the summer kickoff backyard barbecues and pool parties, I once again want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
As someone who moved to this country as a young child and is today living the American dream, I continue to be thankful for the incredible sacrifices made on a daily basis by our nation’s heroes. Without them, it would not be possible for us to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy today.
I have always been committed to supporting our veterans. That’s why Edible Arrangements has been a major contributor to programs that support veterans and their families, as well as helping returning veterans find employment, like the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program.
Former members of the military make terrific franchisees, and nowhere is that more evident than at Edible Arrangements. So while we are celebrating our day off from work on Monday, I hope you will join me at some point in the day and pause to reflect on what this holiday truly means and remember the many men and women willing to trade their lives for our freedom and the freedom of others around the world.
And remember, there is always more that we can do for our veterans, whether it is helping them find employment or even just thanking them for their service.
